It all started with a simple truth: Play builds people.

I’ve spent my life studying how humans learn, how they think, how they feel, connect, and grow. After years in classrooms, universities, and consulting rooms, one thing became clear: The most important skills we can teach children are the ones that don’t fit neatly in a textbook.

That realization became the heartbeat of The Journey Box, a space where social-emotional learning meets joyful play.

Meet the mama behind the box!

The Educational Scientist

Behind every Journey Box is deep research.

I hold a Doctorate in Educational Sciences and have spent years translating complex theories on learning, development, and emotional intelligence into real-world practice. My work has always revolved around one question:

How do we turn knowledge into something children can touch, feel, and play with?

The Journey Box began as the answer to that question, bridging science and play in the most tangible way possible.

The Academic Leader

I’ve led schools, built curricula, and guided teams of educators through transformation. Each role revealed the same gap: Social-emotional literacy was missing from most learning experiences. In classrooms, I saw children acing math yet struggling with empathy. I watched teachers deliver content while craving connection. That gap between knowing and feeling became my life’s work.

The Consultant & Coach

Through my consulting and coaching journey, I worked with educators, parents, and policymakers to design tools that nurture growth from the inside out. I learned that emotional intelligence isn’t taught to children; it’s built with them. That philosophy inspired playful tools that make social-emotional learning feel natural, joyful, and real.

The Creator

Eventually, theory met creativity. I took years of research, consulting, and classroom experience and turned it into something children could actually hold, explore, and love. Every box is a little world of connection: Proof that social emotional learning can be serious work wrapped in serious fun.

The Mama

And then, there’s the most important hat of all. Becoming a mama turned every theory into truth. It reminded me that learning happens on living-room floors, during bedtime questions, and through every small act of love. It’s the everyday moments with my daughter that breathe life into The Journey Box. It is the curiosity in her eyes, the laughter between us, the way play becomes our shared language.

The Ripple Effect

The Journey Box is a movement toward heart-centered learning. Every box creates a ripple:

  • Empowering parents to connect through play.
  • Helping educators teach with joy.
  • Guiding children to understand themselves and others with empathy
Because when play leads, growth follows.
